Here we go again. More grief-stricken, anti-Patriot heretics crying wolf because the Patriots have dominated the league for 15 years.
Want a little history of teams “breaking the rules”? Well here you go:
49ers caught tampering with Bears linebacker Lance Briggs, forced to swap draft picks.
Denver Broncos fined $50K after an employee is caught taping a 49ers walk through.
The DYNASTY Cowboys of the 1990s did the same exact thing the Patriots (and many, many other teams) were caught doing in the most overblown sports story of the 2000s. Yes, it’s a rule, but every other team does it too.
Giants players fake injuries en route to a playoff victory.
Dolphins caught filming other teams’ signals.
Jets caught filming other teams’ signals.
Those last two sound familiar? Probably not, because those teams went 4-12.
And as I type this, it’s been revealed (even though everyone already knew it anyway) that Aaron Rodgers likes to over-inflate the balls for better grip. DEFLATEGATE! Strip draft picks from the Packers! they’re a bunch of cheaters!
Even if the balls were deflated, that doesn’t account for the fact that the Colts couldn’t do ANYTHING against the Patriots defense. It also doesn’t account for their defense being physically unable to tackle LeGarrette Blount. There’s so many variables at plat in this sports, that the PSI in the ball really has nothing to do with anything. So stop bitching, and just go find your next reason for why the Patriots “unfairly” dominated the NFL for 15 years, and will continue to dominate it for years to come.
Side Note: I still think it’s hilarious how any sort of scandal just has “gate” thrown at the end of it. That was the best thing that came out of Dick Nixon’s presidency.
