Technically speaking, it was actually Chevy Metal, but with Dace Grohl and Rami Jaffee. That means 4/6 Foo Fighters were present.
I say six because I firmly believe Rami should be a full member by now. Been touring and recording for ten years with the band and also ditched the Wallflowers (which is now comprised solely of Jakob Dylan) for the Foos. Smart guy, I’d trade up too.
The idea behind Chevy Metal is essentially playing classic rock covers. And that’s exactly what they did. Not a single Foo Fighters song, but I’d still see this too. Nothing like classic rock covers. I’d also like to highlight the fact that this was a county fair, because what’s life if you’re not having fun?
And this ‘Summer of 69’ cover is pretty bad ass.
