Tonight on 91.1 WMUA and WMUA.org, myself and our in-house Coldplay fanatic @BfitzP17 will be giving the first listen to #LP7, aka A Head Full Of Dreams, the seventh studio album by Chris, Jonny, Will, and Guy.
And conveniently enough, the quartet was just announced as the halftime show for the big L – Super Bowl 50.
We won’t be playing the full album in a row (that’s illegal in the U.S.), but it will be sprinkled throughout the show with plenty of Cold-commentary to go along with it.
See where Massachusetts is on that there map (^)? Well, unless some beeotch in Greenland decided to play the whole album, I should be the first radio DJ in North America to do so. Once midnight hits on the eastern seaboard, A Head Full of Dreams will hit the airwaves harder than Bill Cosby’s fall from grace last year.
I would also like to take a minute to acknowledge that Nate from Barstool defended the shite out of the Coldplay wall. People need to stop saying what they think is cool just because Family Guy made a joke out of them. Coldplay is a top 5 act of the 21st century, their live shows are amazing, Chris Martin is a musical genius, and he’s going to Coldplay this halftime so that when the 12 minutes are over, you’re going to wish they didn’t waste all those years on Madonna, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, and the frigging Black Eyed Peas.
I’m a huge Coldplay guy. I’ve gone on the record as saying Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends is a top 10 album all time for me. I need to wait a bit to decide what songs I want them to play at halftime. That’s a tough one.
This is what people have been waiting for. At last, a real band. Now how long until we get the Foos on stage at halftime?
