One time, Dave Grohl was at a party with Sir Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift and God only knows who else. McCartney hopped on a piano and started playing a new song—that’s crazy in itself, right? Afterwards, everyone wanted Grohl to play something. Admittedly, he was “super high” and didn’t know how to play piano.
Then, he looked around and saw that all of McCarney’s guitars were left handed. It was a bad situation getting worse, but then, to Grohl’s relief, Taylor Swift chimed in and offered to play a song. She got on the piano, started playing and then Grohl picked up a left-handed bass and attempted to play along—he didn’t initially realize that Swift was covering Foo Fighters’ “Best Of You.”
I’m not saying I don’t believe him. It’s just slightly suspect that no one has EVER heard about this. It’s so out there that you’d think Dave Grohl’s mistress Rolling Stone would have said something about it. If Peyton Manning had told everyone he once flung his balls in his trainers face when it happened, there would be 100% belief. But since it came almost two decades later people question it. Oh Tennessee, what did you write?
I also feel for Dave, because being a lefty guitarist I’ve never come across a lefty guitar besides my own. Of course this is the exact opposite for him, but this was a pretty bad time for him to be at Paul McCartney’s house. The only other guitarists that this could’ve happened with are Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix, and I don’t think we need a refresher on why those aren’t possible (we can assume Dave wouldn’t be anywhere near David Cook’s house).
