Took me almost a week to make that logo, and 6.9 (nice) of those days were spent deciding the font to use.
Since the rumors were starting to leak beyond our walls anyways I decided to go ahead and make this official: Fitzy and I will be launching a podcast this fall when we move back out to Amherst for our junior years at UMass. It’s something that we’ve talked about for over a year but it’s finally going to see the light of day.
What this also means is that I will not be doing the Stitched Up radio show this fall. That’s not say it won’t be done again in the future, but for now we’re going to focus on this. One isn’t necessarilly displacing the other, outside factors such as having a job and overloading on credits also impacted that decision. I just feel I can’t commit to a two hour show, plus the 3+ hours of pre and post production that went into each show.
Anyone who heard the final episode would also know that we were put on WMUA’s shit list after we absolutely tore Triggly Puff a new one on the air and were subsequently cussed out by a #triggered SJW via phone call. Combine that with the fact that I got a shit time slot last semester (hence prerecording every fucking episode) and am anticipating not getting a desirable one this time around, we’ve decided to go the podcast route.
This also means we can just talk for around 45 minutes and that’s that. We don’t have to crucify two hours of our lives that could be spent writing fire takes or hanging out with the Doctor. You can expect the same quirkiness as before, with soundbytes, Seinfeld bass riffs and Coldplay songs. It’ll just be Fitzy and I, plus a guest who we’ll recruit week to week.
I’m also in the market for a new twitter handle. @sgt_pepper19 has reached the end of it’s character arc. Been rocking that handle since sometime in 2012 and it’s time for a change to something more individualistic. Leave suggestions in the comments and slip a like/follow to our Twitter/Facebook pages.
